Sports have the power to unite people from all walks of life, fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and a sense of community. Yet, despite significant progress in advancing LGBT+ rights, the sporting world continues to grapple with challenges such as homophobia, bullying, and discrimination. These barriers not only impact individuals but also hinder the inclusive spirit that sports should embody.
That’s why we are thrilled to host the kick-off meeting of the TimeOut project right here in Cyprus! This groundbreaking initiative, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and coordinated by MindSpin, is committed to creating a safer, more inclusive, and welcoming space for everyone in the world of sports.
The TimeOut project aims to:

Share knowledge and best practices to combat discrimination in sports.

Develop a specialized Resource Center to support LGBT+ inclusion.

Build a community of allies and advocates to promote diversity and acceptance.
Together with our partners—Sportive, Hellas for Us, Sportopolis.it, and Atlas International—we are laying the foundation for impactful change. Through open dialogue, collaborative planning, and shared expertise, we envision a future where sports truly represent a place of belonging for all.
